Glen Sherman

Director of Teaching and Learning, Elementary Math

Boston Plan for Excellence

Glen Sherman provides mathematics coursework and instructional coaching for current BTR residents at DSNCS and ongoing coaching support to BTR graduates in their first year of elementary teaching in the Boston Public Schools. He began his own education career in BPS, where he spent ten years teaching third and fourth grade in two elementary schools in Fields Corner, served on a variety of instructional and math leadership teams, provided professional development at the school and district levels, and served as a mentor teacher in the BTR. For the last six years, he was a Math Coach in the Cambridge Public Schools, where he worked with both elementary and middle-school teachers to improve instruction and student outcomes. He has also served as adjunct faculty at Lesley University. His work his firmly rooted in the belief that all children have the potential to be powerful mathematical thinkers and problem solvers.
