Originally from Honolulu Hawaii, Rhea Elcock attended Xavier University where she received her B.A in Mathematics in 2019. While at Xavier University , Rhea became a Brueggeman Fellow where she engaged in a yearlong study of how culture plays a role in understanding mathematics. Seeking to change the norm of mathematics and its perspective, Rhea earned her Masters in STEM Education at the Woodrow Wilson Graduate School with MIT. Rhea currently teaches at Helen Y Davis Leadership academy as a 7th grade math teacher. She hopes to help students find their purpose and a passion of problem solving through mathematics.
