Joseph Anderson

Joe Anderson is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Salisbury University in Maryland. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2017, working in theoretical machine learning. His expertise is signal processing and high-dimensional statistics, and works to bring these tools and techniques to the undergraduate experience. He has helped to coordinate the new Data Science major program at Salisbury, and teaches Algorithm Analysis, High-Performance Computing, Theory of Computation, among other introductory-level courses. He is a participant of the Salisbury EXERCISE REU program, and has supervised student research in deep learning, signal processing, and human-computer interaction. He actively collaborates with other faculty to apply his expertise in the study of social psychology and environmental science. In Spring 2020, he will teach the first course at Salisbury University for educators to learn methods for teaching computer science, as part of a new Computer Science Education minor program.
