Danilo Symonette

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Danilo is a senior Computer Science major at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. There, he is the VP of the Computer Science Education Club and a member of the Grand Challenge Scholars Program, where his focus is the advancement of personalized learning. He is also conducts research in the AVAIL lab at UMBC, exploring the use of machine learning for identifying indicators of teamwork in group chat discourse. Danilo has joined the Teaching Systems Lab as an MSRP undergraduate researcher, and is using voice data to train a model to detect struggle and confusion in responses from the Teacher Moments platform, towards the development of an intelligent feedback system.
