Richard Colwell

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Richard (MIT Class of 2021) is majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, minoring in Environment and Sustainability, and concentrating in education. In TSL, Richard is working closely with Chris Buttimer on interviews and qualitative analysis regarding equitable teaching – particularly during the ongoing transition to online teaching. Richard has taught various subjects including disciplined entrepreneurship, intro to materials science, and computer-aided design (CAD) in Israel and South Africa with MIT’s Global Teaching Labs (GTL). At MIT, Richard is also an active member of many groups on campus including being the current president of French House, a member on the First Generation Program advisory board, an orientation captain, and an associate advisor and undergraduate teaching fellow in the Terrascope learning community.
